Our Story: From an Idea to a Platform for Transformation

It all started in 2018, in a small apartment in Bucharest, where a group of researchers and social activists began discussing rigid social systems and the need for alternatives. We saw that traditional models of community organization and governance no longer meet contemporary challenges. Our first project was a case study on agricultural cooperatives in Romania, which laid the foundation for our practical methodology.

In 2020, we officially launched the OvergrowTheSystem platform, turning academic research into accessible educational resources. We organized our first international workshop, and in 2022 we expanded our activity with mentoring programs for community initiatives. Today, we are a growing community, dedicated to studying and promoting social innovation, decentralized organizational models, and sustainable development.
